Behind the Mic: My Recent Podcast Appearance

I've had the pleasure of being a guest on The Acorn Oak and Stream Podcast interviewed by Charlene Lekx. This is my first ever guest appearance on a podcast and it was both a little nerve-wracking not knowing what to expect, and exciting to share about my clinical and personal experiences with a wider audience. Stepping into that unknown to bravely answer questions related to my working and lived experience with Chronic Illness, Pain and Grief. I hope you find this podcast informative, and helpful as you yourself may be experiencing pain, illness, and the losses that we experience along the way.

Who Is This Podcast For?

This podcast episode is for every human being and all the listeners who are suffering from chronic illness, pain and the grief of the losses. The information is a bit more targeted for audiences listening in Ontario, Canada as some of the discussion shares some insight into the experience of our current healthcare system and the challenges many face.

This information may be helpful for anyone who is contemplating whether they should seek out psychotherapy support because of their experience with chronic illnesses, pain, new diagnoses, feeling stuck and hopeless with pain, and unsure how to improve upon their quality of life. Not everyone may be ready to look inside, and that's okay. This is meant to offer support and hope by acknowledging the inevitability of pain, illness, and the human experience of grief and loss.

What Was I Asked About?

In this interview I was asked some very important and big questions covered in a short period of time. I did my best to provide the most authentic and accurate to both my personal and professional experiences.

  2. How grief shows up in people’s lives in relation to a chronic illness?

  3. What resources are out there to support people struggling with a chronic illness?

  4. What take-aways are there for people living with chronic illnesses?
