Pregnancy & Postpartum Support

Let's Walk Together Step by Step - Moment by Moment

Navigating pregnancy and postpartum are times of enormous transformation—physically, emotionally, and mentally. It is one of the most wild times in our lifes where our bodies, worlds, and families grow. It can be a challenging and confusing time.

Whether you’re navigating unexpected emotions during pregnancy, health changes during and after pregnancy, or adjusting to life after birth. You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, sleep deprived, and not quite like yourself. Sometimes we can feel disconnected and a whole new host of thoughts, feelings, and sensations occur. And yet, it's often during these times that we’re told to just “push through” or "be grateful". It can feel dismissing and often times birthing parents become unseen.

We are here to offer a different message one that welcomes all thoughts, feelings, expectations, realities.

It's okay to not be okay - and support is here!

Whether you are a mother to be, a father to be or a parent, guardian, surrogate, your experience matters.

You might feel like your are carrying the weight of a previous losses, struggling with past family experiences, new anxieties, or feeling disconnected from your changing body.

Here at Mindful Steps Therapy, you'll find a space to:

Postpartum Care

Beyond the "Fourth Trimester"

Here for the Whole Journey

Sometimes when we reach the end of our pregnancy and after birth a whole new experience occurs. The postpartum period is one that each and every person experiences. It's unique, messy, uncertain, new, and even chaotic. The changes we knew we were always going to experience but sometimes don't pan out or happen the way we thought or planned for it to be.

Postpartum Care in therapy looks like:

  • Bringing your baby into therapy nurturing and processing through attunement and co-regulation
  • Exploring the experiences of birthing, adjusting towards the new changes and making room for more change
  • Managing and supporting all the emotions you experience
  • Navigating postpartum anxiety, depression and trauma

You are not alone in this, and you never have to walk it alone.

We’re here to help you:

  • Process postpartum depression, anxiety, or birth trauma
  • Adjust to your new identity and role
  • Explore attachment and bonding struggles
  • Reconnect with your body and self-compassion
  • Feel less alone in the emotional highs and lows of early parenthood
  • Approaching with cultural-sensitivity and inclusivity
